About Me

As a kid I loved riding my bike but once I discovered cars, women and beer I forgot all about it...

During mid-2000 the fuel strikes happened in the UK and I dug out my old Raleigh Marauder to ride to work and back on.  Soon afterwards I bought a new mountain bike (a Claud Butler, Stone River) and started to occasionally ride at Thetford Forest, Alton Water and Rendlesham and Tunstall Forests.  In 2005 I treated myself to a more capable bike (Gary Fisher, HooKooEeKoo) and found myself riding more and more.

In late summer 2007 I stumbled upon a poster in a Tunstall Forest car park promoting a newly formed trail-building club.  I attended one of their first meetings and continue to be closely involved with the club.

Through the club I've met some great people and my enthusiasm for the sport has grown significantly.  I now ride much more regularly and have taken part in various cycling events both on-road and off-road, and I have helped from an organisational standpoint too.

My plan for this blog is to store write-ups of my rides/races/training/etc from forums and Facebook and to keep them in one place then I'll add new things when I can be bothered...
